A current vice prime minister was jailed during the first premiership of Yulia Tymoshenko but released without trial. Now Tymoshenko is under active investigation with trial almost certain to follow. The game got more interesting today as the current prime minister accused the former prime minister of lying about Kyoto environmental funds.

Is it possible that the rise of the Svoboda [Freedom] Party could be a plot designed to assure the re-election Viktor Yanukovych to a second term as president of Ukraine? That is just one of the premises examined in an interesting op-ed appearing in an American publication.
