Ukraine’s representative in the Eurovision Song Contest honored by the region where she grew up
SIMFEROPOL, May 27, 2013 (UBO) -- Ukrainian singer and Eurovision contestant Zlata Ognevich has been awarded the honorary title - Honored Artist of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea – during a ceremony in the Council of Ministers of Crimea, UkrInform reported.
"I'm glad to get this title, the first in my creative life that is handed over to me in Crimea - a place where I grew up. The honorary title - it is certainly a high estimation of the work of our entire team. Believe me, at the Eurovision Song Contest we spent all our strength completely," Ognevich emphasized.
Crimean Prime Minister Anatoly Mohyliov, in turn, noted that entire Crimea had supported its countrywoman. "I want to say that Zlata Ognevich was the most beautiful and the most decent singer at the Eurovision Song Contest. We believe that she won a gold medal, but with a slight touch of bronze,” Mohyliov said.
In the Eurovision Song Contest 2013, held at Malmo, Sweden, the Ukrainian singer took third place.
