Ukraine puts 12 satellites into orbit in 2011

The enterprises operating in Ukraine's space sector produced and sold nearly UAH 3.4 billion worth of products in 2011

KYIV, January 27, 2012 (UBO) – Ukraine conducted six successful launches of Ukrainian carrier rockets in 2011, putting 12 satellites into orbit, Chairman of the State Space Agency of Ukraine Yuriy Alekseyev said, UkrInform reported.

“Four launches were conducted under the Land Launch program and one each under the Sea Launch and Dnepr programs,” he said.

In addition, enterprises operating in Ukraine's space sector produced and sold nearly UAH 3.4 billion worth of products in 2011.

Alekseyev said that it was 1.6 times higher than in 2010. “The industry completed the year 2011 with a net profit of UAH 76.7 million,” he said.
