The rejection of the restrictive measures is associated with the settlement in Uzbekistan of issues involved in the sale of Ukrainian cars
KYIV, January 27, 2012 (UBO) – Ukraine has abolished quotas on automobile imports from Uzbekistan, which were introduced in October 2011, as reported by the Ukrainian interdepartmental commission on international trade. The decision adopted January 23, 2012 comes into force Friday, UkrInform reported.
The rejection of the restrictive measures is associated with the settlement in Uzbekistan of issues involved in the sale of Ukrainian cars. In particular, starting 1 January 2012, Uzbekistan cancelled the fee (69.9 percent of customs value) for the acquisition and (or) temporary importation into the territory of the republic of vehicles produced in Ukraine.
As reported, according to government regulations on the introduction of a licensing regime, the supply of Uzbek Daewoo was quoted at 3 cars per year. It was thanks to this that Daewoo Matiz, Nexia and Lacetti were actually expelled from the Ukrainian market.
