Ukraine 5M18 retail sales slow to 6% yoy growth

Analyst: “We anticipate retail sales to pick up amid expected disinflation during the summer months. We expect real retail sales to grow 7%-8% yoy in 2018.”

 


KYIV, June 21, 2018 - Ukraine’s 5M18 retail sales in real terms increased 6.1% yoy, decelerating from 7.0% yoy growth in 4M18, Concorde Capital reported based on a Ukraine State Statistics Service report on June 20. In 5M17, retail sales grew 7.1% yoy.

 

Regionally, the highest growth occurred in the Ukraine-controlled Luhansk (24.6% yoy growth), Poltava (10.2%) and Vinnytsia (9.8%) regions, while growth was slowest in Chernivtsi (0.9%), Kharkiv (2.2%) and Kirovohrad (2.5%).

 

Concorde analyst Evgeniya Akhtyrko added: “We anticipate retail sales to pick up amid expected disinflation during the summer months. We expect real retail sales to grow 7%-8% yoy in 2018.”
