Russia postpones final work on the Crimean bridge until the end of 2019

A well-connected source in Moscow is reporting that the delays in construction of the bridge from mainland Russia into Crimea is an indication of the effects of Western sanctions, another reason for maintaining and strengthening the sanctions.

On April 30, the Russian government issued an order to extend till December 1, 2019 the contracted work on the safety of the transport crossing over the Kerch Strait-the Crimean Bridge, the newspaper Kommersant reports.  


This decree also modifies the schedule for the implementation of automobile security of the approaching lanes from Kerch and Taman: changing from April 30, the date will now be postponed until September 30.
