Ukrainian stocks find firmer ground in Wednesday trading

Astarta up 5.9% over five straight positive sessions 

KYIV, Nov 30, 2017 – There was more black ink in evidence as many Ukrainian stocks return to positive territory on Wednesday. Concorde Capital has more in its daily market comment below:


Ukrainian equities started showing signs of life on Wednesday, Nov. 29. The WIG Ukraine Index of Warsaw-traded stocks climbed 1.4%, led by sugar producer Astarta (AST PW), which shot up 3.9% and extended its win streak to five sessions at a 5.9% gain. In London, iron ore miner and pellet maker Ferrexpo (FXPO LN) slid 3.8%, or 5.3% in three sessions. The volatile shares of JKX Oil & Gas (JKX LN) bounced 8.5% after plummeting 11.3%. The Ukrainian Exchange (UX) Index of Kyiv-traded stocks improved 0.2%.
