Russian modern pentathlete Maksim Kustov, excluded from last year's Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro after been named in Richard McLaren's report into doping in the country, has been banned for four years.
Kustov tested positive for trenbolone, methenolone and oxandrolone when his samples were analysed in a Moscow laboratory in August 2014 "but the findings were not reported as such".
The Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA) has now said in a statement that Kustov has been given a four-year ban, backdated to October 2016.
RUSADA claimed Kustov had broken a rule regarding the use or attempted use of a banned substance but did not clarify which substance was involved or whether the case was connected to the McLaren Report.
