"I am proud of your morale. You've demonstrated what it means to be a strong Ukrainian warrior. For me as President your liberation was an extremely important task," Poroshenko said.

KYIV, May 23, 2015 – At a ceremony in the presidential office, President Petro Poroshenko presented the medal "For Courage" to the commander of "cyborgs" Oleh Kuzminykh who was liberated from captivity recently.

"Ukraine doesn't leave its people behind. Every day we fight for the liberation of our Ukrainian heroes. We will keep on fighting for that. Every one will be returned," the Head of State noted at the meeting with the serviceman and his family.

The President praised the courage and heroism of Kuzminykh during the defense of Ukraine and during his captivity. "I am proud of your morale. You've demonstrated what it means to be a strong Ukrainian warrior. For me as President your liberation was an extremely important task," Poroshenko said

The Head of State emphasized that the liberation of the military from captivity had been solved at the highest level. Particularly, the President has touched upon this issue in the course of the negotiations in the Normandy format. The Ukrainian party has discussed this issue in the framework of the Trilateral Contact Group. Poroshenko underlined the persistence and determination of Tetiana Kuzminykh, wife of the serviceman, who applied to every institution for the liberation of her husband. Volunteers have also played a significant role in this process.

Poroshenko also recalled his conversation with one of Kuzminykh’s subordinates in the course of the premiere of "Airport" documentary. According to the President, the only thing the wounded soldier asked was to liberate his commander from captivity. "When after four months of your captivity your subordinates ask the President for only one thing - to liberate their commander - it means that such an army is invincible," Poroshenko emphasized.
