Annual meeting of the Greek-Catholic bishops of Europe held in Ko?ice

The event brings together bishops from Ukraine, Poland, UK, France, Germany and Italy.

 


KOSICE, Slovakia, Oct 21, 2013 (UBO) - The annual meeting of the Greek-Catholic bishops of Europe was held in the Slovak city of Košice from October 17-0.

 

This year the meeting was dedicated to the 1150th anniversary of the arrival of Saints Cyril and Methodius to the Slavic lands.

 

The event brings together the bishops from Ukraine, Poland, UK, France, Germany and Italy. Patriarch Sviatoslav (Shevchuk), head of the UGCC, also took part in the meeting.

 

The bishops meeting in Košice, representing 14 local Catholic Churches of the Eastern rite, are discussing cultural evangelism and the mission of Saints Cyril and Methodius from the historiographical point of view, and also focused on the problems faced by the Church today.
